What's one thing you absolutely love about the role? 

The big feelings - the nerves, the anticipation, the vulnerability, the joy, the deep love... and having the privilege of witnessing and holding space for all of them. Ooof, I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

What were you doing before you became a celebrant? 

I’m a primary school teacher by trade. I taught for three years at Ōhoka School in North Canterbury before we headed overseas, where I worked at a private girls’ school in London. When we moved back to New Zealand, I shifted into part-time teaching and relieving – and over the past few years, I haven’t spent much time in the classroom (we had three tamariki under four at one stage, and I launched My Celebrant App!).
